A Biden-Harris campaign official told on Fox News on Monday night that Vice President Kamala Harris reached out to Ohio GOP Sen. J.D Vance after he was announced as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s running mate by leaving him a voicemail congratulating him on his selection and expressing “her hope that the two can meet in the vice presidential debate proposed by CBS News.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to Trump’s campaign for comment.
The Biden-Harris campaign in May said it had accepted an invitation for a CBS-hosted vice presidential debate for July or August, according to Axios.
The Trump campaign, however, said it accepted an invitation for a vice presidential debate that would be hosted by Fox News.
