Washington, DC Kindergarten Classroom Struck By Bullets

  • Violent crime rates in Washington, D.C., continue to surge, as evidenced by recent incidents. An elementary school found itself in lockdown on Monday when bullets struck multiple windows of a kindergarten classroom. Additionally, on Tuesday, a teenager was fatally shot, marking the 200th homicide in the capital this year.
  • According to FOX 5 D.C., the gunfire occurred at approximately 1:35 p.m. near Stanton Elementary School, located on Naylor Road in the southeastern part of the city.
  • Students were outdoors and quickly sought refuge inside the school building. Those who were already indoors were moved away from windows, and all movement within the school was temporarily halted.
