The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox included a hit that took out a bird following a line drive that people can’t stop talking about.
In the bottom of the second inning, Guardians’ right fielder Will Brennan stepped up to the plate with a runner on first base and no outs. Eager to generate offensive momentum for his team, Brennan connected with a line drive that sailed into left field.
The hit came at the cost of an unintended casualty: a harmless bird perched on the infield grass between the shortstop and third base. The bird was tragically struck and instantly crushed by Brennan’s powerful swing, creating a moment of unexpected intrigue during the game.
