  • The scene shows leading lady Cate Blanchett sitting at a piano with a young male student, who dismisses Bach’s work, saying, “Nowadays, white, male, cis composers, just not my thing.”
  • What follows is an epic monologue from Blanchett, beginning with this line: “Don’t be so eager to be offended. The narcissism of small differences leads to the most boring conformity.”
