WATCH: Wine Floods Town After Storage Tanks Burst

  • Residents of a Portuguese town were met with an unexpected sight on Sunday morning when a deluge of red wine flooded through their streets following the rupture of two massive storage tanks at a nearby winery.
  • The incident occurred at the Destilaria Levira in Levira, Anadia, as the tanks burst, releasing what appeared to be a substantial volume of readily consumable red wine into the vicinity. Videos recorded by local residents vividly portrayed the magnitude of the industrial mishap, as the alcoholic beverage cascaded past stationary vehicles and descended down the terrain.
  • Responding to the situation, the fire brigade promptly intervened and redirected the flowing wine to a waste treatment facility, as reported. Furthermore, Portuguese publication PT conveyed that the local council confirmed on Sunday evening that measures had successfully prevented the wine from reaching the nearby Cértima river, thus averting a potential “environmental disaster.”
