- Liz Truss, the UK’s top diplomat, is favored to replace Boris Johnson as prime minister in a Conservative Party vote on Monday.
- Truss apparently doesn’t place much value in the “special relationship between the UK and U.S., saying that Brits should not fight for America’s affection “like some teenage girl at a party.”
- Her record as foreign secretary suggests the UK’s relations with the U.S., and especially post-Brexit Europe, could be rocky.
