White NY Times Critic Accused Of Racism After Brutal ‘KPOP’ Broadway Review

- Producers of the Korean pop-inspired Broadway musical KPOP are calling a New York Times reviewer “racist” after his brutal and scathing review of the show.
- Times critic Jesse Green described the musical’s bright lights as “squint-inducing” and wrote that he failed to understand significant parts of the musical that are performed entirely in Korean.
- Producers of the show have called his critiques “racism” and reminiscent of “White Supremacy” in an open letter demanding an apology from the Times for the poor review. The Times says it stands by Green and disagrees that the review is racist.
