- There’s only one problem: Whitmer wanted to shut down Line 5, but couldn’t do so because of a 1977 treaty with Canada.
- Dixon noted that President Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Whitmer Line 5 couldn’t be shuttered.
- Dixon called out Whitmer during the debate: “Line 5 has not been shut down but that’s not because Gretchen Whitmer hasn’t tried. … The only reason it’s not shut down is because other people have stopped her radical energy agenda.”
