- President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden hosted their first state dinner last night since moving into the White House in 2021, with the guests of honor being French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
- Among the several hundred others in attendance are singer Jon Baptiste, who will be performing, musician John Legend and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen, and actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The dinner is red, white, and blue themed—a nod to both countries’ flags, and, according to Biden “our common values: liberty and democracy, equality and fellowship.” First ladies Macron and Biden chose looks that further underscored night’s theme.
