WI Court Outlaws ‘Spoiling’ Absentee Ballots To Vote Again

  • A Wisconsin appeals court affirmed a lower court ruling barring “ballot spoiling” in order to cast a new ballot.
  • “Spoiling” is relative rare in U.S. voting, though upwards of 33,000 voters in Wisconsin spoiled their ballots during the 2020 presidential election, according to the Associated Press.
  • That amounted to about 1% of all votes cast in Arizona in the 2020 election.
