Women Fatally Shoots Terminally Ill Husband Inside Hospital
The couple has apparently planned a murder-suicide, but the women was eventually taken into custody after shooting her husband, then barricading herself in the Florida hospital room.

- The incident occurred Saturday morning at Advent Health Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla.
- The 77-year-old patient has been identified by police as Jerry Gilland.
- The 76-year-old wife surrendered to police after confining herself in the hospital room for for several hours.
- The couple allegedly planned the shooting several weeks ago should the husband take a “turn for the worse,” police said.
