An NBC News poll revealed that a striking 89 percent of Americans harbor concerns, ranging in severity, regarding President Joe Biden’s physical and mental fitness for a potential second term in office.

Published on Tuesday, the poll disclosed that 62 percent of registered voters nationally possess “major concerns” about Biden’s ability to serve another term due to doubts about his mental and physical health. Additionally, 14 percent expressed “moderate” worries, while 13 percent indicated “minor concerns” on the matter.

Conversely, slightly over one in ten registered voter respondents conveyed having “no real concerns” about Biden’s fitness for a second term. The poll, conducted among 1,000 registered voters from January 26-30, carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

The release of the survey coincided with the publication of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on the Biden classified document case on Thursday. Hur cited Biden’s memory as a factor influencing the decision not to pursue prosecution. Although the investigation uncovered evidence of Biden willfully retaining and disclosing classified materials post-vice presidency, it did not establish guilt “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Hur also noted Biden’s “significantly limited” memory, which would likely evoke sympathy from jurors and potentially raise reasonable doubt at trial.

Following the report’s release, Biden addressed the nation, but the ensuing press conference turned chaotic as reporters grilled him about his age and cognitive abilities. In one tense exchange, Biden responded sharply to a reporter’s inquiry about public concerns regarding his age, highlighting the heightened scrutiny surrounding his physical and mental well-being.
