Future Of Colleges Bleak, Says Prof Fired Because Class Was Too Hard

  • Maitland Jones Jr., the New York University professor who was fired because some of his students thought his course was too hard, called out his former students for “personal and profane” attacks.
  • Jones also chastised American colleges for coddling woke students who don’t want to put in the work necessary to succeed.
  • Jones wrote in the Boston Globe: “In a university, the feeling of community crumbles when trust is lost. If tenured faculty cannot depend on fair-minded support from departmental and university leadership, they cannot transfer their knowledge and experience to the next generation of students and teachers.”
