- Actor Will Smith slapping 2022 Oscars presenter Chris Rock will loom large over this year year’ award’s ceremony for the best films on 2023.
- The 58-year-old Rock waited nearly a year – last weekend – to totally download on the ugly incident using a Netflix livestream event as his format.
- “We’re going to acknowledge it, and then we’re gonna move on,” the show’s executive producer Molly McNearney, said last week. “We don’t want to make this year about last year. It’s certainly something we can and will address in a comedic fashion.”
- Smith has resigned from the Academy Award and won’t be in attendance Sunday night.
