  • Congressman Ro Khanna said Sunday he’s endorsing fellow California Democrat  Rep. Barbara Lee to replace the state’s senior senator, Dianne Feinstein, who is retiring at the end of her term, in 2023.
  • Khanna is considered a  rising star in the Democrat Party, and a California Senate seat rarely becomes open.
  • Khanna will instead co-chair Lee’s campaign and said on CNN’s “State of the Union” the House is “the best place” for him at the moment.
  • Khanna said he was being urged to get into the race by Sen. Bernie Sanders’ “folks.”
  • Already in the race are fellow California Democrat Reps. Katie Porter and Adam Schiff
