According to Border Patrol officials, around 700,000 migrants are currently waiting in Mexico to cross the southern border once Title 42 expires next week, as per Jonathan Lines, supervisor on Arizona’s Yuma County Board of Supervisors.
Border officials have also reported a 500 percent increase in migrants crossing the Darién Gap, which connects South and Central America.
Title 42 is set to expire May 11.
