• On Thursday former President Donald Trump filed an appeal to a jury’s verdict in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of sexual assault and defamation.
• The federal jury in New York City awarded Carroll $5 million in connection with her claims that Trump attacked her sometime in the 1990s – Carroll doesn’t recall when – in a department store in the city.
