  • President Trump on Saturday came to the defense of political ally GOP Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, after the state’s GOP-led House voted in favor of impeaching him.
  • “Free Ken Paxton, let them wait for the next elections,” the twice-impeached Trump posted on Truth Social after the impeachment vote was taken.
  • Paxton is a conservative hero for successfully taking on the Biden administration and winning a lawsuits curbing the White House’s liberal agenda. However, he is also being investigated by the FBI for corruption including allegations of bribery.
  • Trump also posted: ” I love Texas, won it twice in landslides, and watched as many other friends, including Ken Paxton, came along with me. Hopefully Republicans in the Texas House will agree that this is a very unfair process that should not be allowed to happen or proceed—I will fight you if it does.”
