In an unprecedented event, Moscow experienced a series of drone attacks on Tuesday morning, leading the Kremlin to express its concerns about a perceived “terrorist attack,” although it appears to be ironically linked to Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.

At least eight unmanned aerial vehicles were reportedly involved in the attack, signaling the spillover of Moscow’s involvement in the war in Ukraine into its own territory. The city’s air defenses engaged the drones, resulting in a string of explosions resonating across the capital, according to Moscow’s mayor.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have successfully neutralized or brought down the entire attack.
