Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Monday during a press conference that he plans to transport “thousands” of border crosses to sanctuary cities such as New York City and Chicago as Title 42 is set to expire on Thursday.
This policy ending grants the Border Patrol and Department of Homeland Security officials the power to remove illegal immigrants over concerns about health and the spread of communicable diseases.
According to the New York Post, Abbott said during the press conference, “With the Biden Administration ending Title 42 this Thursday, President Biden is laying down a welcome mat to people across the entire world, saying that the United States border is wide open and it will lead to an incredible amount of people coming across the border illegally.”
