- Major League Baseball suspended Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon after video of a physical altercation with him and an Athletic fan in Oakland went viral Friday.
- Rendon was also fined an undisclosed amount.
- His suspension will begin Monday night unless he decides to appeal.
- The Angels slugger was recorded grabbing a fan by the shirt at Oakland’s O.co Coliseum after losing the season opener, 2-1, to the Athletics.
- Rendon also appear to take a swipe at the fan but did not connect.
- “You called me a bitch, huh?” Rendon can be heard saying in the video clip that circulated on social media.
- The fan denied saying anything to Rendon during the altercation.
