Best Thing Trump Could Do for America Is ‘Die,' Conservative Firebrand Says

Ann Coulter didn’t beat around the bush when asked what former president Donald Trump could do to “help us take America back.”

“Maybe he could die?” she wrote on X.

The commentator and former ardent Trump supporter has dramatically shifted her stance on the ex-president, evidencing a deepening rift within parts of the conservative movement.

Back in 2016, Coulter was a vocal advocate for Trump. She not only endorsed his candidacy but also authored the book “In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!”, which sang praises of Trump’s political approach.

Despite this previous support, Coulter’s perspective took a turn after she felt that Trump did not deliver on his immigration promises, notably his commitment to building an extensive wall along the US-Mexico border—a cornerstone of his 2016 campaign aimed at curtailing undocumented migration.

Coulter has since transitioned to one of Trump’s more vocal critics. Among her criticisms, she has labeled him ineffective and has taken to social media with disparaging remarks about his handling of immigration issues.

She attributes Trump’s success in the 2016 election largely to his assertive immigration policy proposals, mentioning the wall and the travel ban affecting several Muslim-majority countries.

More recently, Coulter has expressed admiration for Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, hinting at him as a political figure who could potentially carry forward the immigration policies she favors—without the shortcomings she associates with Trump. DeSantis, however, conceded from the presidential race last month after trailing behind Trump in the Iowa caucuses.
