Ballots Cast By Millions In Early Midterm Voting

More than 6.1 millions ballots turned in as of Friday

  • Across the United States, more than 6.1 million voters have already cast their ballots for the 2022 midterm election.
  • According to data released on Friday by the U.S. Election Project, nearly 1.1 million people have voted early and in person, and more than 5 million mail-in ballots have been returned.
  • Historically, fewer voters turn out for midterm elections. However, Michael McDonald, a professor at the University of Florida, said that the strong early data suggests higher turnout than usual.
