Bank Of England Hikes Rates By 25 Basis Points, But No Longer Sees Recession

  • Maybe it’s the King Charles effect, but the Bank of England no longer sees a recession coming and hopefully that’s good news for America.
  • In raising interest rates, likely for a last time for now, by 25 basis points, the bank also said the recession worries may be over.
  • In its accompanying Monetary Policy Report, the MPC also updated its growth and inflation forecasts, and no longer expects the U.K. economy to enter recession this year.
