• CNN’s Jake Tapper asked President Joe Biden Tuesday about potential criminal charges for hitting his son Hunter. The president responded with nothing but love and admiration for whom he once called the “smartest man” he knows.
• “Well, first of all, I’m proud of my son,” the president began. “This is a kid who got, not a kid; he’s a grown man; he got hooked on like many families have had to happen, hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that; he’s established a new life.”
• “I’m confident that what he says and does are consistent with what happens,” Biden said.
