Biden Insists Border Not In Crisis; Republicans Call Him ‘Delusional’

The Biden administration will open migration centers in South and Central America for asylum seekers heading to the U.S.-Mexico border, in a bid to slow what’s expected to be a surge of migrants seeking to cross the border next month as pandemic-era immigration restrictions end, U.S. officials said Thursday, April 27. The situation at the southern border is reaching critical levels, but according to President Joe Biden, there is “no crisis.”

Despite record-high numbers of illegal crossings, Biden shifted the blame toward Republicans and emphasized the need for major changes to the border.

Republicans were quick to criticize Biden’s comments, placing the blame squarely on the Biden administration’s policies. Sen. Ron Johnson even went so far as to call Biden “the most dishonest, corrupt and incompetent President in American history.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Troy Nehls noted that more than 6.7 million illegal aliens have crossed the southern border since Biden took office, and Rep. Tom Emmer accused Biden of ignoring strong border security legislation passed by House Republicans nearly a year ago.

Not only have record numbers of individuals from China been crossing into the United States, but reports suggest that thousands of Africans have been flying into Central America before seeking to cross into the U.S.

Despite the overwhelming numbers, many illegal immigrants have been released into the country, placing a strain on the infrastructure of towns and cities across America. Recently, New York City even resorted to placing illegal immigrants in a high school, causing significant disruptions to students’ learning.
