- President Biden plans to ask Congress again for more funds to development of a new coronavirus vaccine.
- “I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works,” Biden said Friday. “It will likely be recommended that everybody get it no matter whether they’ve gotten it before or not.”
- The announcement comes amid a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in some parts of the country.
- The Biden administration’s supplemental funding request toCongress for the start of the new fiscal year, which is October, did not include money for COVID-19 vaccinations.
