- Residents have been placed under strict stay-at-home measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, with only one member of the household permitted to leave to buy food.
- To demonstrate opposition to the strict measures, residents took to the streets.
- Online footage showed protestors clashing with police, overturning a police vehicle, knocking over fences in the Haizhu district, and confronting blue-clad health personnel.
