Roman Catholic Cardinal Joseph Zen faces charges from Hong Kong’s CCP-controlled government for aiding protestors

- Roman Catholic Cardinal Joseph Zen faces charges from the communist-controlled Hong Kong government for providing aid to protestors demonstrating against the Chinese Communist Party’s attacks on the region’s freedom and autonomy.
- If found guilty, Zen faces a fine. He is also being investigated for violating the so-called National Security Law, which if charged and convicted, could result in life imprisonment.
- “Martyrdom is normal in our church,” Zen said. “We may not have to do that, but we may have to bear some pain and steel ourselves for our loyalty to our faith.”
