- Former Congressman Robert “Bob” Walker summed up the opening day of the first congressional session of this year in one word: embarrassing.
- Walker said, in his article, Democracy or Mobocracy, “What we witnessed was a small mob used the narrowness of the Republican majority as a blackmail target.”
- Walker made it known that the House of Representatives is going to be difficult to manage with such a small majority, even under the best of circumstances.
