Conservative Commentator Benny Johnson Give $20K To Residents

In a video posted to YouTube on Sunday, conservative commentator Benny Johnson visited East Palestine, Ohio, giving residents who live closest to the train that derailed earlier this month $1,000 each.

  • “Welcome to East Palestine, Ohio. It’s a sweet, patriotic community, 5,000 people live here,” Johnson begins in the video. “They have homes here. Their children go to school here. There’s playgrounds, businesses, restaurants, and there’s also train tracks that run through the center of town. And on that train track there was a massive derailment.
  • Conservative have made a rally point out the what they considered the Biden administration’s inadequate response the derailment earlier this month, in which toxic chemicals including vinyl chloride leaked from the train, then was syphoned off and sent into the air in a cloud, to avoid an explosion.
  • There have been reports of death fish and animals, as a result, and concerns about a short- and long-term HAZMAT situation by so far no deaths have been reported.
