- Houston police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly hitting Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz with can of beer during the Houston Astros’ World Series parade.
- The Houston Police Department said an unidentified man, aged 33, threw can at the senator, who was on a parade float, striking him in “chest/neck area.”
- Cruz did not require medical attention, authorities also said.
- “Nearby HPD officers arrested the male without further incident,” the department tweeted. “He was taken to jail and faces assault charges.”
