Dem Congressman Refers To Border Wall As ‘Soviet Statue’

  • Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) likened the wall at the southern border to a “Soviet statue” while discussing immigration and the influx of fentanyl.
  • Frost spoke during a House Oversight Committee hearing, “On The Front Lines of the Border Crisis: A Hearing with Chief Patrol Agents,” during which border agents testified about their experiences at the southern border — just hours before President Joe Biden is set to deliver his State of the Union address, where the topic of immigration is expected to come up.
  • “We know that crossings haven’t decreased since we spent $15 billion … of taxpayer money on that monument of fear,” Frost said. “The wall kinda reminds me of a sad, decaying Soviet statue.”
