Iowa Dems Postpone Vote On Early Presidential-Nominating States

The Democratic National Committee postponed a vote this weekend on whether to change the order of early presidential-nominating states.

  • DNC told members vote for new slate of early presidential-nominating states will be delayed until after November midterms
  • Vote was initially scheduled for Aug. 6
  • Starting order for over a decade has been Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina
  • 17 states and territories are vying to lead off presidential nominating process with eye toward increasing the racial diversity in balloting
