DOD Announces Creation Of Diversity And Inclusion Committee

Defense Department has formed the advisory committee on Diversity and Inclusion and on Friday announced the appointment of its inaugural slate of members

  • Committee chairman will be retired Gen. Lester Lyles.
  • Committee is “composed of civilian women and men who are appointed by the secretary of Defense to provide advice and recommendations on matters and policies relating to the improvement of racial/ethnic diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity within the Department with a primary focus on military personnel,” according to Pentagon.
  • Critics say that the Defense Department under the Biden administration has been over prioritizing social issues and progressive projects.
