Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is under scrutiny for failing to include her husband’s income in financial disclosures. Conservative policy group the Center for Renewing America filed a complaint with the Judicial Conference, claiming that Jackson had “willfully failed to disclose” information about her husband’s malpractice consulting income for more than ten years.

The Judicial Conference, which serves as the governing body of federal courts, has referred the complaint to the Financial Disclosures Committee for review. The grievances against Justice Jackson could result in punishment or disciplinary action if the committee concludes that her conduct is unethical.

Russ Vought, former senior Trump administration official and president of CRA, expressed his hopes that the Judicial Conference would assessthe ethics concerns surrounding Justice Jackson. Vought added that there should be no double standards for judges and criticized the Left for ignoring the actual indiscretions and corruption that are taking place.

This complaint against Justice Jackson follows her nomination to fill Merrick Garland’s seat on the D.C. Circuit seat by President Barack Obama in 2013. In 2020, Jackson was on the shortlist of candidates who could be nominated to the Supreme Court by President Biden.

The consequences of these allegations are significant, raising questions about the validity of decisions made by Justice Jackson during her tenure. It is worth noting that failing to disclose information about a spouse’s income is not a criminal offense but is considered unethical.

The next steps depend on the outcome of the Financial Disclosures Committee’s review, which could take several months before making any recommendations. As the case unfolds, this issue has the potential to become a national scandal. As a result, the Judicial Conference will face considerable pressure to investigate the matter as thoroughly as possible.
