The 2024 Oscars will showcase the best of 2023’s films, including “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” — a k a last summer’s hottest movie ticket “Barbenheimer” –– as well as “Poor Things,” “American Fiction” and “The Holdovers.”

The Academy announced this year a new category titled Best Casting. However, that statuette will not be given out until the 2026 Oscars.

There will be a few milestones at Sunday’s show, with composer John Williams being nominated for his record 49th Best Score Oscar for “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Germany’s Holocaust drama “The Zone of Interest” and the French film “Anatomy of a Fall” are both in the running to win.
