- As part of new “community engagement expectations” for employees, Meta has instituted a ban on conversations about what it calls “disruptive” topics in the workplace.
- The ban on conversation about controversial topics at work is meant to “reduce distractions while maintaining an environment that is respectful and inclusive and where people can do their best work,” says Lori Goler, Head Of People at Meta.
- Goler and Meta also plan to reduce Meta’s advocacy work, and refrain from releasing statements on controversial issues that do not directly impact the company.
