FBI Has Lost Independence, Retired FBI Boss Says

Former chief of criminal investigations calls for independent commission to investigate FBI’s practices and impose reforms

  • The FBI’s retired chief of criminal investigations said the agency has surrendered its independence to a group of liberal ideologues inside the Department of Justice.
  • In an interview with Just the News, Ex-FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker said, “What I see is that it’s basically a wholesale takeover by the Department of Justice, which is filled with political appointees in every top position, and then by extension, right into the administration.”
  • Swecker pointed to the FBI’s relationship with Big Tech firms — as evidenced by the recent internal files released by Twitter —  as one of the multiple tell-tale signs of the agency’s loss of independence and impartiality.
