FBI Offered Steele $1M To Verify Anti-Trump Dossier; He Couldn’t

• Shortly before the 2016 election, the FBI, apparently determined to derail the Trump campaign, offered Christopher Steele $1 million to “prove” his discredited anti-Trump dossier.
• Brian Auten, an FBI analyst, testified that Steele never got the money because he could not “prove the allegations.”
• It’s no surprise that Steele was not able to verify the dossier given that most observers realized from the outset that the information it contained had no basis in reality.
