The Kansas City Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl on Sunday night in Las Vegas against the San Francisco 49ers with a game-winning, overtime touchdown pass.

The Chiefs won 25-22 when star quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a short pass to receiver Mecole Hardman with seconds remaining in the first quarter of overtime to win the game.

The 49ers scored first in overtime with a field goal by Jake Moody.

San Francisco had a 10-3 halftime lead.

The score was 19-19 at halftime.

The 49ers got deep into Chiefs territory on their first drive of the game, but it ended with a rare fumble by running back Christian McCaffrey.

The fumble was recovered by Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis.

The first quarter also had a fair share of penalties, which slowed, then killed drives.

After a field 49ers’ field goal, San Francisco took a 10-0 lead on a trick-play pass to McCaffery, which was followed by a late field goal by the Chiefs, giving the 49ers the 10-3 halftime lead.
