GOP Sens. Bill Cassidy and Mike Rounds on Sunday each would not say whether they would endorse former President Trump for president.

Rounds, of South Dakota, on CNN  wouldn’t explicitly say he would endorse Trump but said he would support the eventual nominee, with Trump now the GOP’s presumptive nominee.

The final nomination process take place at the party’s convention this summer.

Cassidy would not say whether he would vote for Trump, who was elected president in 2016 and lost reelection in 2020.

Cassidy is one of seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump in the impeachment trial following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot,

“At this point, all I will say is that I plan to vote for a Republican for the presidency of the United States,” he said on NBC-TV.
