Emmy Russell looks like a star in the making.
The granddaughter of country music legend Loretta Lynn has lit up the stage throughout this season of “American Idol,” and she made the cut into the top 14 on Monday.
But Russell had a different look when she took the stage on that show to perform her original song, “Skinny.”
She wore jeans with holes in the knees and kicked off her shoes and went barefoot.
The move apparently drew some criticism online — of course it did because everyone has to be negative — and, surprisingly, Russell, who has shown she can be a bit timid, took that head on in a reel that she shared to Facebook on Wednesday.
The judges have been urging her to find her voice and … well, maybe this is part of that.
