Hamas Executes 5 in Gaza, 2 For Aiding Israel

Hamas authorities in Gaza on Sunday executed five Palestinian men convicted of murder alleged collaboration with Israel

Official for the Islamic militant group said executions meant to “achieve public deterrence and security.” but rights groups in the past have questioned fair-trial standards in the military and civilian courts of the Islamic militant group.

Two of the men, members of the Palestinian security forces, were killed by firing squad; other three hanged at security site in Gaza City.

Hamas took over Gaza in 2007 and has issued 180 death sentences  “in violation of Palestinian law”: Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
