- Hilaree Nelson reportedly fell into a 2,000 foot gap in the ice, termed a crevasse, while descending from Mount Manaslu in Nepal.

- Over the course of Nelson’s 20-year career, which includes more than 40 expeditions in 16 different countries, she has become one of the world’s most accomplished alpinists and backcountry skiers. Notably, Nelson is the first woman to have climbed Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse in one 24-hour period.
