• Legendary sportscaster Dick Vitale has revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer after previously beating the disease.
• Last August, Vitale gave some good news to his many fans when he announced that he was cancer-free. While he was still fighting his illness he gave a speech at the 2022 ESPY Awards that reminded many of Jimmy V’s classic.
• This year, just minutes before the start of the 2023 ESPY Awards, Vitale made a heartbreaking announcement on social media.
• “I’m sorry to share that I received tough news today from Dr. Zeitels about my throat,” he said. “The tests on the tissues they removed showed that I have vocal cord cancer and will need six weeks of radiation to treat it.”
