Authorities in Coffee County, Alabama, have arrested Pablo Mendoza, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant, for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl who is reported to be mentally incapacitated.
Mendoza was taken into custody by the Enterprise Police on Monday and was charged with first-degree rape following the incident on February 20th. Authorities stated that the teenager could not consent to the sex because she was “physically helpless or mentally incapacitated,” according to WDHN-TV.
Sheriff Scott Byrd confirmed Mendoza’s immigration status, stating that he will remain incarcerated without bond until the conclusion of the Alabama case. Following proceedings, Mendoza will be deported to his home country.
