- After The Free Beacon’s initial report, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service told the outlet that its Office of Law Enforcement “has an open investigation into this incident, and has been working actively with the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission since the day it occurred.”
- “The Office of Law Enforcement is currently in possession of the air rifle and the eagle,” a spokesman added.
- “Due to the nature of ongoing investigations, we are unable to provide further comment at this time.”
