Ivy League Faculty Freaks Out Over Planned Israel Campus

  • Columbia University’s plans, announced earlier this week, to open a center in Tel Aviv, Israel, has drawn backlash from anti-Israel faculty, who claim that the college should not be supporting a country that “refuses to abide by international human rights laws,” according to the Columbia Spectator.
  • Columbia officials announced the Columbia Global Center in Tel Aviv Monday as part of its ongoing initiative to expand internationally, as it has in numerous countries, including communist China. But Israel, apparently, was a bridge too far for Columbia’s leftist faculty members.
  • An opponent of the center, Colombia law professor Katherine Franke, pushed back against the plans in an open letter
