King Charles III Arrives At London Hospital For Treatment

Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, was admitted to a London hospital for treatment. The 72-year-old prince arrived at the hospital on the afternoon of March 10, 2021. According to Buckingham Palace, Prince Charles was admitted after feeling unwell. It has been reported that the prince is suffering from a pre-existing heart condition.

The Palace initially confirmed that the Prince was only undergoing “routine tests.” Later, the Palace made a statement that Charles had been diagnosed with “an infection that had affected some of his organs.” It is expected that Prince Charles will remain in the hospital for a few days to receive treatment.

The news of Prince Charles’s hospitalization has raised concerns about the health of the monarchs. The Queen, who is 94 years old, and Prince Philip, who is 99, are currently staying at Windsor Castle. The Queen carried out her first in-person public engagement on March 9, 2021.

Prince Charles, who is known for his environmentalism and philanthropy, has largely taken over many of the royal duties from his aging parents. While his hospitalization is not expected to have any significant impact on the British monarchy, the news has naturally caused some concern among the public. The prince has been working remotely from his home in Highgrove during the coronavirus pandemic, taking on video engagements and virtual meetings.

Prince Charles previously tested positive for the coronavirus in March 2020. At the time, he self-isolated for 7 days and continued to work from home. His wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also tested positive but suffered only mild symptoms.

The British royal family has been adhering to COVID-19 protocols during the pandemic, and members of the family have been vaccinated. It is not clear whether Prince Charles’s current hospitalization is related to the coronavirus.
